Spiritual Development Introduction Principle and Conclusion

Introduction:

Spiritual Development

Spiritual development is the process of developing and deepening our relationship with God. It involves growing in our understanding of who God is and learning to live more like Jesus Christ. Spiritual development is not something that simply happens; rather, it requires intentional effort on our part. We must understand what spiritual development is before we can actively pursue it.

We cannot gain a correct understanding of God apart from His self-revelation to us in Scripture, so we must learn what the Bible says about God. As we come to know Him more through His Word, our faith will deepen and grow stronger.

Appreciation of God:

Spiritual Development

“Spiritual development is not something that simply happens; rather, it requires intentional effort on our part.” by Dr. Charles Stanley.

We grow in our appreciation of God as we consider and reflect upon specific things He has done for us and how those experiences have affected us. Like a child who gets excited every time he sees his mother’s car pull into the driveway, we experience joy as we remember all that God has done for us and rejoice over what we know He is going to do.

Increase your desire for spiritual development:

We must be willing to put effort into growing in our relationship with God. Spiritual development does not just happen; it requires work on our part. Without a desire for spiritual development, we will get sidetracked and distracted from actively pursuing Him. We cannot afford to let this happen. We need to ask ourselves: “Am I hungry for spiritual food? Am I thirsty for His Word?” If we want what God has, we must hunger and thirst after the things of God (Matthew 5:6).

“Spiritual development happens when you decide to grow and make that your priority.” by Dr. Charles Stanley.

Spiritual development is not something that simply happens; rather, it requires intentional effort on our part. We must understand what spiritual development is before we can actively pursue it. Our desire will determine how much progress we make toward Him and where we ultimately end up.
